Temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius get to even the hardiest. But no one has to endure. These tips will help you get through the heat better.

Taking a cold shower only refreshes you for a short time. Because the cold causes the vessels to contract, and the body is less able to transport the heat away. A lukewarm shower, however, dilates the ships, the pores open up, and the heat can escape.

Nobody should go to bed hungry. But for a good night’s sleep, carbohydrate-rich and especially fatty foods should be avoided shortly before bedtime. Light snacks that are not heavy on the stomach are better.

While you should drink plenty of water during the day, it is advisable not to consume large amounts of liquid after seven o’clock in the evening. Otherwise, you’ll have to keep going out at night and won’t be able to sleep through the night.

If you have to drive your car on hot days, you should ventilate your vehicle properly before you start driving. Then the ventilation should run for some time on recirculation – so the vehicle cools down faster because no warm air is supplied outside.

Some people just sweat when temperatures exceed 30 degrees Celsius. For others, that’s when it gets hazardous. For example, such weather poses a health risk to specific population segments. The elderly, pregnant women, and young children are particularly at risk.

To avoid worse, experts advise them – and all other people – to refrain from physical exertion during the hottest part of the day, keep the home and body relaxed, drink plenty of water, eat refreshing food and compensate for the salt loss.
